Ed Sheeran left Australia today with a new companion to remind him of his trip down under.

Ed was relaxing in Freo before flying back to the UK to perform at the Olympic closing ceremony.

Whilst he was in Freo he visited Five Star Tattoo studio and got some brand new ink on his arm; a very cute koala sitting in a gum tree.

The koala sits above a menagerie of cute and colourful tattoos that adorn his left arm.

Talking in a recent interview on Perth's 92.9 the Lego House singer admitted to being a bit partial to a colourful tattoo.

Maybe on his return next year we can talk him in to getting a quokka done.
